NEXT PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

Thursday 18 April 2024 at 7.30pm

The meeting will take place in Sparsholt Memorial Hall.  All members of the public are welcome to join the meeting.  Those wishing to join are requested to contact the clerk, clerk@sparsholtparish.org, in advance and no later than 5:00pm on the day of the meeting.

Affordable Housing for Sparsholt

A public consultation took place on 7 November. Details presented of the proposed scheme can be viewed at   https://www.winchester.gov.uk/housing/new-affordable-housing/early-stage-schemes.  

Drones

Operating drones is not illegal; however, users are restricted from repeatedly flying them in close proximity to residential addresses and doing this could lead to them being dealt with for Anti-Social behaviour or committing a S.4a/S.5 Public Order Act offence.

If you are concerned that a drone appears as though it is being used in suspicious circumstances e.g. if it continuously hovers over a particular area, please contact the Police on 101.

Sparsholt is planning to celebrate Her Majesty’s Jubilee in memorable style with fun events and a real community spirit.
The programme is:

Thursday 2nd June: Jubilee Beacon @ 21:30

Lighting of a Jubilee Beacon on the field behind the Plough.
The Plough will be open as normal for those who’d like a pre-beacon drink or dinner.

Friday 3rd June: Dog Walk @ 11:00 and Bacon Rolls @ 12:00

  • Wendy Dean will lead walkers and dogs from the village Memorial Hall car park at 11.00am for about an hour

  • Walkers will return to reward themselves with bacon rolls and tea or coffee on the Memorial Green

  • £10 per family of walkers (with or without dog) and also for non-walkers for a bacon roll

    Saturday 4th June: Platinum Party at the Palace @ 17:00

    Live on a HUGE Screen on the School Playing Field

  • Pay bar on hand

  • BYO picnic and drinks

    N.B. – No glass or pets on the school field, please for Health and Safety reasons

    Sunday 5th June: Village Lunch @ 12:30 and Fete @ 15:00

  • Thanksgiving Prayers for Her Majesty in St Stephens – 09:15–09:30

  • Lunch on Woodman Lane in the centre of the village (road will be closed !!)

    12:30 - 14.30. Please bring your own chairs !

o Tickets for Jubilee Feast for family and friends will be £6 for adults

and £4 for children (12 and under) and will be available from the

village shop on Monday 9th May.
o Please get tickets before 26th May, as information is needed for food

planning and purchasing!
o A pay-bar will be available to get drinks for lunch
o A Creative Crown Competition – with a prize or two! For ideas see
